I have been a special education teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools for eleven years. I commenced my teaching career at Riverside Elementary, an inner city school. As a result of the large number of children with variety of Educational needs,
I was privileged to see first hand the growth that most of them achieved during my years at the school. This proved to be a most rewarding experience. At Riverside, some of my responsibilities included; ESE Teacher for staffing outside of school; ESE Chairperson; FAB Specialist; Inclusion Project Leader; ESE Scheduling; ESE CUM Reviewer and assigning ESE students to ESE classrooms. In 2005, I came to Flagami Elementary as part of this school's faculty. I work in both the Resource and the Inclusion setting, helping students meet their individual needs. For the past two years I have also been the Sped (ESE) Chairperson. |
