I graduated from University of North Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education (EH) in 2001. I began my teaching career in North Carolina as a (VE) resource teacher for grades third through fifth.  Two years later I moved back to Miami and was hired to work at Flagami Elementary as the EBD teacher for grades 3rd -5th.

I have been teaching since 1999, when I graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in special education. I began my career at Frances S. Tucker Elementary, where I taught in the SED and VE program.  During the five years I taught at that school, I had the opportunity to teach kindergarten through fifth grade.  In 2004 I joined the Flagami family and continued teaching students with special needs in various grade levels.

I am a certified teacher in the areas of Elementary Education grades 1-6, Varying Exceptionalities grades K-12 and ESOL endorsed. My 11 years teaching career have been working with special education student in self-contained classes both at the elementary and middle school level. Earlier in my career I taught at risk regular education students in an after school program funded by the Bertha Abess Children’s Center. Additionally, I have worked at West Miami Middle School in the Adult Vocational program teaching English to adults.

My main hobby is spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, baking, and organizing celebrations. I specially like going to the beach and relaxing.
